One for You, One for Me

So…

I was working hard on the new design the other day when I heard a familiar sound… a new email coming in. No big deal, right? Except that this particular email was from Pat Sloan, and since its Springtime and Pat generally has a new fabric line to debut every Spring, I immediately thought, “Maybe Pat wants me to make up a bag in her new fabric for Spring Market?”

OneForYouAnd I’m thrilled to say that’s exactly what Pat wanted to know! She’s evidently got a new fabric line coming out for Spring and its called, “One for You, One for Me“, and wanted to know if I might be willing to make up a display bag for her booth in Pittsburgh? And did I say, “Hmm… lemme think about it?” Heck no! I said,

Absolutely! and you betcha!

Because I LOVE working with Pat’s prints and batiks! And since we’re not actually going to Spring Market in Pittsburgh ourselves in May, this would at least give us some semblance of a presence there. So Patasked me to check out her new fabrics and let her know what I wanted to work with. And that’s the BEST part, thinking about combinations and possibilities. So pictured above are the fabrics that made my top 6 list. (I especially fell in love with those oh-so-rich blues. Aren’t they dreamy?)

OneForYou1But when the box of fabric showed up yesterday…

THIS is what it looked like!

That box was literally EXPLODING with fabric! And check out these delicious jelly rolls and fat eighths! I honestly felt like a kid at Christmas!

There was SO much fabric in that box (over 5 pounds!) that I could probably make up 4-6 bags! But wait… There’s more!

OneForYou2 I love batiks. I find them to be a joy to work with. But the coloration on this collection of batiks is so striking, so intense, and so utterly yummy that it’s hard to believe.

I’m totally inspired by some of these awesome color combinations. For example– I’m really drawn to this stunning aqua and coral combo, and believe me the colors are really as brilliant as they look in this picture.

And here we have the batik version of Pat’s blues! I must admit I’m not normally drawn to dark blue shades when it comes to my bag samples. Black has always been my go-to color, but there’s a brightness and a clarity to these blues that make them VERY appealing to me!

I might just have to find a way to include them in an upcoming sample! (maybe they would look good with my new beige & white stripe zips?)

And last, but certainly not least, feast your eyes on these scrumptious celery greens. I really love the coral red highlights within the print. I’m thinking combination has the potential to be a real showstopper!

And now… I’d like to hear YOUR thoughts!

I need to decide which of my designs to make up for Pat’s booth at Spring Market, so that makes me wonder…

So… What would YOU do?

if you were me….Which of our patterns would YOU use (BESIDES the Wrapsody because its not ready yet) to make up into a sample for Pat to take to the Market? I would LOVE a suggestion or two!

And concerning this new fabric collection, do you see any combinations here that would suit your own personal style? Want to see MORE about Pat’s wonderful new line? Just click HERE!

One for You, One for Me by Pat Sloan will be making its debut at the Spring Quilt Market in Pittsburgh, PA in mid May 2014. But your local quilt shop can start ordering it NOW!
